At first our thinking was to stay for a long 1 month, trusting that my son's tumor, the reason we came, was nothing more than just a scare. At that time Alan, just 2 years old, had a tumor on his face and a lump in his throat. The exams began and at two weeks almost 3, he was diagnosed with cancer and even metastasis. The news was not pleasant at all, it was devastating and knowing that we would be a year and more away from home, away from our loved ones was frustrating. However, everyone's support in Bela Nova came from a family. Both the girls in the bathroom, as well as the receptionists, Doña Luz Marina, Johanna and more were a support, a shoulder to cry on, a strong hug in moments of weakness. Johanna was a great help for my husband's stay, since I could not be alone with the child and he had had to give up his job in order to stay with me. They allowed us to decorate the entire apartment to make Alan feel more at home, all those paint-stained blankets all that mess of music held us while we danced with Alan they brought us details of joy, they always brought us a smile from the depths. Also in Bela Nova we were able to meet amazing people with hearts bigger than the ocean. People who became our family in Cali, despite having spent 2 Christmases away from home, they made an effort to do their best and give us a beautiful Christmas. With all my heart I thank the entire Bela Nova team for so much love, dedication and of course all the effort made for an excellent service. Thanks to AZV insurance for absolutely everything and thanks to those people who, despite their circumstances, always have a smile, a hug and a word of encouragement for those who need it. Bela Nova is a recovery center, but it is also a great family and not of blood, but of love.
